Mr. Robert Dale “Bob” Smith, II., age 64, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 27, 1958 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was the loving son of Robert Dale and Joy Elizabeth (Wamack) Smith of Tipp City, Ohio. He was raised in Zanesville, Ohio and was a 1976 graduate of West Muskingum High School. Bob was united in marriage on March 23, 1976 to Linda Lou Westfall in Washington, Pennsylvania. This happy union of over 47 years was blessed with two children, Renae and Robert. Bob was employed as a chemical technician for Dow Chemical in Carrollton, Kentucky, retiring in 2016, after 30 years of service; three of those years took the family to China where he was an engineer. Bob was a member of The River Apostolic Church in Vevay, Indiana where he enjoyed going to church and tending to maintenance work. Bob was well known as the Vevay walker as it was his favorite hobby. Bob loved his faithful furry companion, Yoda and taking him on walks through town. He also enjoyed mowing and spending time with his family. To know him was to love him. His sense of humor was ever present in all situations. Bob was a friend to all who knew him. Bob passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:53 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023 at his home in Vevay, Indiana surrounded by his family.
Bob left behind many people who loved him, his wife, Linda Lou (Westfall) Smith of Vevay, IN; his daughter, Renae M. Smith and her wife, Gironny of Houston, TX; his son, Robert Bryant Smith of Vevay, IN; his parents, Robert Dale and Joy Elizabeth (Wamack) Smith of Tipp City, OH; his sisters, Tammy Smith of Piqua, OH, Keeley Bristow and her husband, Kenny of Troy, OH and Billi LaMaster of Englewood, OH; his god-grandchildren, Alexia and Gabriel Haynes of Vevay, IN and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his cherished sisters, Pamela Denney, Debra Fries and Terri Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 State Road 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 State Road 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
