Mr. Richard Allen “Dickie” Knox Sr., age 72, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 25, 1951 in Vevay, Indiana. He was the son of the late Willie D. and Patricia L. “Pat” (Scott) Knox. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1970 graduate of Switzerland County High School. Dickie was united in marriage on August 15, 1971 to Nancy “Janie” Laughlin at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church. This happy union of nearly 43 years was blessed with two sons, Ricky and Steven. Dickie was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Madison, Indiana and later for Teledyne Packaging in Carrollton, Kentucky. Dickie was employed as a security officer for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, retiring in 2017 after several years of service. Dickie was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. Dickie passed away at 12:45 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dickie will be missed by his sons, Ricky Knox of Aurora, IN and Steven Knox and his wife, Amanda of Vevay, IN and his grandchildren, Jordan Knox, Mahaila Grace Knox, Madison Patricia Knox and Keylie Jo Knox.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie D. Knox, died January 26, 1996; his mother, Patricia L. “Pat” (Scott) Knox, died July 16, 2014 and his wife, Nancy Janie (Laughlin) Knox, died January 27, 2014.
