Mr. Jerald Anthony “Jerry” Chatham

Mr. Jerald Anthony “Jerry” Chatham, age 64, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on February 3, 1958 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of the late, Kenneth D. “Sonny” Chatham, Jr. and Ruth Evelyn (Leach) Chatham. He was raised in Madison, Indiana and later moved to the Switzerland County community when he was a teenager. Jerry graduated from the Switzerland County High School, class of 1977. Jerry was inducted into the United States Army in 1978 and was honorably discharged in 1982. Jerry was united in marriage to Evonna Ramseyer in June 1977 at the Jennings Park in Vevay, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with two children, Travis and Scotti. Jerry was later united in marriage in 1992 to Susan Williams in Olive Hill, Kentucky. This happy union was blessed with one daughter, Rachael. Jerry was later united in marriage to Betty Sue Clark on April 9, 2000 at the Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay, Indiana. This happy union of over 22 years was blessed with a daughter, Lillianne. Jerry was a truck driver all of his life, working for Airgas, Tri-State Carbonic, Baylor Trucking and YRC Freight. Jerry was a faithful member of The River Apostolic Church in Vevay, Indiana.He served as a van ministry driver and always helped anyway he could. Jerry loved driving and tinkering on trucks, socializing on Facebook, going to church, riding his motorcycles and playing 8 ball pool online with his family and friends. Jerry went to be with his Lord and Savior and gained his ultimate reward at 8:36 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at the St Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Sue (Clark) Chatham of Florence, IN; his daughters, Scotti Sullivan and her husband, Bryan of Bossier City, LA, Rachael Chatham of Hebron, KY and Lillianne Chatham of Florence, IN; his son, Travis Chatham of Moorefield, IN; his step-sons, Cory Stancle and his wife, Jodie of Lincoln, IL, Nate Stancle of Lincoln, IL and Michael Stancle and his wife, Amy of Lincoln, IL; his grandchildren, Wyatt Chatham, Natalie Sullivan, Maliah Stancle, Cali Stancle, Cory Stancle, Chloe Stancle and Jayden Stancle; his sister, Valerie Chatham of Hanover, IN; his brothers, Kenneth “Kenny” Chatham of Vevay, IN, Shane Chatham of Vevay, IN and David Chatham of Indianapolis, IN and his several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth D. “Sonny” Chatham, Jr., died April 27, 2018; his mother, Ruth Evelyn (Leach) Chatham, died March 13, 2007 and his nephew, John Paul Jewell, died April 10, 2011.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 Highway 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at The River Apostolic Church, 6160 Highway 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
