Mr. Harvey “Honk” Albright, age 76, of Quercus Grove, Indiana, passed away at 12:34 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indaina. Born on October 24, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Harvey H. and Mary Henrieta Clara (Fox) Albright. Honk grew up in Dearborn County, Indiana, and graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1966, where he played football. He was inducted into the United States Navy on November 9, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served his country during the Vietnam War era, earning the National Defense Service Medal. Honk was transferred to the reserves on August 3, 1970 in San Diego, California and was honorably discharged with the rank of SK-2 on November 8, 1972. Honk was united in marriage to Diana Kay White on March 1, 1975 in Quercus Grove, Indiana. This union of 50 years was blessed with two children, Jarrod and Kristi. Together, they built a beautiful life, moving into their forever home in 2000. Honk dedicated 40 years of service at Anchor Glass in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, retiring in 2010. Honk volunteered for the Special Olympics and was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post 59. In his younger years, he enjoyed cat fishing with his Dad. Honk was a man who embraced life’s simple joys. He loved watching football and cheering on the Bengals, deer hunting, and tending to his garden-especially his tomatoes and green peppers. He enjoyed spending time outdoors mowing and no matter what he was doing, he was rarely without a Pepsi and a cig in hand. He was a proud supporter of Kristi’s bowling tournaments and Jarrod’s lawn mower races, affectionately called the “Briggs and Stratton 500.” Family was at the heart of everything Honk did. He cherished the holidays, especially the family tradition of playing Bid Seven Up, a game made all the more entertaining by his father’s sneaky strategies. One of his proudest moments was harvesting an eight-point buck on November 27, 1986, an accomplishment officially recorded in the state book on February 13, 1987.
