Mr. Gayle Dean Harmon

Mr. Gayle Dean Harmon, age 84, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on January 13, 1940 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Lloyd Lee and Lola Mae (Brown) Harmon. Gayle was raised in Trimble County, Kentucky where he attended school. On November 2, 1957, Gayle was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Farrell in Carrollton, Kentucky. This happy union of nearly 62 years was blessed with four children, Timothy, Lisa, Pam and Debbie. Gayle was formerly employed for Madison Precision, as well as, Weinberg’s in Madison, Indiana, for several years. Gayle retired from M&T Chemicals in Carrollton, Kentucky, after several years of service. In his younger years of life, he enjoyed camping and fishing. Gayle enjoyed watching The Cincinnati Red’s with his wife and spending time with his family. He enjoyed his daily country cruises around the county, sitting on his front porch and spending time at the river watching the barges and boats go by. Gayle passed away with his loving family by his side at 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, Kentucky.

Gayle will be deeply missed by his son, Timothy Gayle “Tim” Harmon, Sr. and his wife, Leanna of Florence, IN; his daughters, Pam Mays and her husband, Marv of Florence, IN and Debbie Cunningham of Florence, IN; his sons-in-law, George Claypoole of Florence, IN and Raymond Cunningham of Florence, IN; his 12-grandchildren, Robbie (Dietra) Cunningham, Sean (Kelly Faulkner) Cunningham, Jennifer (Daniel) DeBaun, Jessica (Rob) Nace, Amanda Beuther, Liz Harmon, Tammy (John) Claypoole, Karissa Kietzman, Misty (Jeremy) Saylor, Jeremy (Crystal) Romans, Tara (Casey Scudder) Romans and Tiffany (Travis Eldridge) Claypoole; his numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his brothers, Steve (Olivia) Harmon of Okeana, OH, Johnny (Wanda) Harmon of Madison, IN, Keith (Sharon) Harmon of Bedford, KY and Tony (Charlotte) Harmon of Madison, IN; his sisters, Diane (Donnie) Hensley of Carrollton, KY, Nadine (Daniel) McCane of Milton, KY and Joyce Romans of Madison, IN and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Lee Harmon, died March 23, 1977; his mother, Lola Mae (Brown) Harmon, died May 22, 1993; his wife, Ruth Ann (Farrell) Harmon, died September 20, 2019; his daughter, Lisa Kay (Harmon) Claypoole, died November 14, 2022; his grandson’s, Justin William Claypoole, died July 13, 1997, Timothy Gayle Harmon, Jr., died April 16, 2015 and Jeremy Kenneth Beuther, died January 17, 2016; his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Harmon, Rodney “Dell” Harmon and Ernest Harmon; his sister, Ernestine Harmon; his half-siblings, Francis McFarland, Byrl Rae Westrick, Virginia Pierce, Ople Harmon, Ruby Harmon and Myrl Faye Fox; his daughter-in-law, Jill Ann (Davis) Harmon, died May 4, 2006 and his son-in-law, Mike Ferguson, died November 4, 2010.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
