Motorcyclist critically injured in Ripley County crash

RIPLEY COUNTY, IN — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening near Milan.

Indiana State Police say a 2021 Kawasaki being driven by 20-year-old Noah Haessig of Sunman was traveling north on State Road 101 near Spades Road, when a 2019 Toyota pickup truck, being driven by 67-year-old Keith Wuellner of Milan, pulled onto State Road 101 from a private driveway into the path of Haessig’s motorcycle.

Haessig was unable to avoid Wuellner’s vehicle, and he and his motorcycle collided with Wuellner’s vehicle.

Haessig was thrown from the motorcycle and was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

It is believed that Haessig was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash although toxicology tests are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.

Indiana State Police was assisted by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, the Milan Police Department, the Milan Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, and Stat Flight Medical Helicopter.
