(Ripley County, IN) – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales hand delivered a $13,678 local Election Improvement Grant to Ripley County on Monday (pictured).

He also made stops in Ohio, Switzerland and Shelby counties.

Since the start of this year, Morales has delivered grant checks to more than 75 Indiana counties for local election security, safety and voter outreach projects.

The counties are receiving grant dollars from the federal Help America Vote Act to go towards local election improvement and security efforts.

This new round of statewide grants is valued at approximately $1 million.

Previous funding has been used for a wide variety of improvements such as voter outreach efforts, additional signage, security upgrades, and more. Many counties implemented election
improvements for the Primary Election.

“We started the day before sunrise, heading to Southeastern Indiana. By delivering these election improvement grants to counties across our state, we are investing in the tools and resources
necessary to enhance the integrity and efficiency of our elections. I’m so excited to hand deliver these funds directly to our local counties to help ensure safe and secure elections for the Hoosier
state,” Morales said.

He strongly encourages every eligible Hoosier to register to vote prior to the upcoming October 7 registration deadline and cast a ballot on November 5.

While in Ripley County, Morales visited with Clerk Liz Baumgartner and her staff to thank them and offer assistance for the upcoming General Election.
