(Lawrenceburg, IN) – A jury in Dearborn County convicted a Moores Hill man of Domestic Battery (Class A misdemeanor) this week following a two-day trial.

Jurors found John Jivoin not guilty of Intimidation (Level 6 felony).

The case involved an altercation between Jivoin and his adult son at their properties in Moores Hill.

Investigators say Jivoin sent a series of incensed text messages before confronting and physically assaulting his son, and that weapons were involved in the dispute.

Jivoin is free on a $35,000 cash bond while awaiting sentencing.

A condition of his release is that he not have any contact with the victim.

Jivoin faces up to a year behind bars when he’s sentenced on November 16 in Dearborn Superior Court I by Judge Jonathan Cleary.

The Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office is thanking the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police for their investigation.

The case was tried by deputy prosecutors Jonathan Kunkel and Jessica Butler.
