Monroe Henry Meyer, age 91 of Batesville, IN passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Aspen Place in Greensburg, IN. The son of Fred & Lillie (Stickfordt) Meyer was born August 3, 1924 in Franklin County, Indiana at the home where he was still living.
Monroe was a lifelong farmer and also sold Dixon lawn mowers, but many will know him as the Bird House Builder at the farmers market. On January 17, 1948 he married Luella Westerman at St. John Huntersville Church where he is also a member. He was a life time member of the Indiana Farm Bureau (Ray Township).
Monroe is survived by his wife Luella Meyer, sons & daughters in law Wayne & Toni (Pfeiffer) Meyer, Dan & Sandy Meyer, Art & Nancy Meyer & Jerry & Janet Meyer and daughters & sons in law Linda & Richard Pfeifer and Marge & Paul Thole. He will also be missed by his 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and his brother Wilbur Meyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Meyer and sisters Delia Narwold, Esther Narwold, Flora Thie & Irene Thie.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 5-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 6, 2016 at 10:00am at St. John United Church of Christ with Pastors Dennis & Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Burial will follow services at St. John Cemetery.
