Monday’s Local Sports Results (9-14)

The Batesville JV Football team beat the Knightstown Panthers 22-6 on Monday night. Deacon Hamilton had scores on a 3 yard TD run, a 4 yard TD run, and a 2 point conversion run. Evan Williamson ran for a 5 yard TD.  A 2 point conversion pass from Chris Lewis to Jonathan Buschle finished the scoring. 

Hamilton and Brady Westerfeld had interceptions on defense.  Quinten Elston, Quinn Steinkamp, and Bobby Weiler. also had strong games for the Bulldog defense. The JV team is now 2 -1 on the season.

The Batesville Middle School Boys won their cross country meet against Greendale, St. Lawrence, and Sunman Dearborn on Monday.  Jake Chapman won the boys race followed by Cannon Clark, 2nd, Isaac Trossman, 3rd, Ethan Lacey, 4th, Griffin Koester, 8th, Landon Raver, 11th, Lincoln Garrett, 12th, Talan Rowlett, 13th, Hudson Kohlman, 15th, Santiago Schutte, 18th, Cash Meyers, 19th, Brody Gibson, 25th, Kayden Mills, 27th, and Evan Yeager, 29th.         

The Batesville Middle School Girls finished 2nd in their meet against Greendale, St. Lawrence, and Sunman Dearborn.  Kaylynn Bedel won the girls race, followed by Paige Allgeier, 8th, Charlotte Trossman, 10th, Belle Young, 12th, Hailey Pierson, 13th, Candace Shane, 15th, Leigh Hertel, 16th, Caitlyn Fox, 17th, Lydia Huffmeyer, 18th, Mackenzie Bedel, 20th, Katelynn Fullenkamp, 21st, Grace Coffey, 24th, Corrine Volk, 26th, and Louise Hund, 27th.

The Batesville Freshman Girls’ Volleyball team won against Rushville in 2 sets. 25-20 and 25-11. 

Kaylin Hinners went 24 for 25 serving with 7 aces. Isabelle Wonnell had 6 kills and led in serve-receives. Kaylie Raver had 10 assists.

The Freshman team is 3-1 for the season so far. 

The Batesville team will take on East Central Tuesday evening at BHS.

The BMS 7th Grade Batesville Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team defeated Sunman Dearborn in 2 games. Scores were 25-16; 25-7.

Ava Walsman continued to pace the team with 15 service points including 5 aces. Reesa Zimmerman and Addison Luers score 9 and 7 points respectively.  Five of Reesa’s serves were aces, while Addison earned aces on all 7 of her service points. Grace Walter and Luers each had 2 kills in the front line.

They will face cross-town rival, St. Louis tonight at their activity center. Attendance is limited. Good luck ladies!

The BMS 8th Grade Volleyball team had another good win. This time against Sunman Dearborn. 25-8, 25-13.

The entire team contributed to the win. Ava Powner, Annie Negovetch, Addison Westrick, Sophie Gesell, Aly Peters, Sarah Bedel, Ava Williamson, Lydia Haskamp, Kate Bauer, Ayanna Watson, Molly Meer, and Eva Struewing.  Top servers were Powner with 10 points. Meer added 8 points. Gesell chipped in 7 points. While Peters and Bedel earned 5 points each. Negovetich had 4 points. In the front row Negovetch, Peters, Haskamp, and Meer each had a kill.

The team is now 6-2.

North Decatur Girls 8th Grade Volleyball beat SW Shelby – MHC play-in game 25-20, 25-17.  

8th Grade Lady Chargers improve to 8-1 to move on in the MHC Tourney. Nice teamwork ladies!

North Decatur High School Girls Varsity Golf beat Rushville Consolidated High School 212-226 at North Branch, Bridge.

The team shot their best of the season. Katy Kinker was the individual medalist with a 45. Also, Rilie Sieg shot her personal best of 56.

Jac-Cen-Del Varsity Volleyball falls to Rising Sun 25-20, 25-10, 25-16.
