Mollie Jean Leibecke, 67, of Aurora, Indiana, died peacefully, surrounded by her husband and daughters on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from cancer.
She was born July 31, 1954, in Bullittsville, Kentucky daughter of the late Theodore Birkle and Patricia (Harrison) Birkle. Mollie grew up in Petersburg, Kentucky and met her husband, Terry Leibecke of Aurora, Indiana at age 17. They were married for 48 wonderful years and raised three daughters, Mollie-Beth Leibecke-Pustelnik (Christopher), Patricia Leibecke Gaines and Amanda Wilson (Hyker). She was blessed with 7 grandchildren who called her Beci, and she loved to take care of and visit with them: Jordan Pustelnik, Lucy Guilfoyle Gaines, Luke Guilfoyle, Mollie Guilfoyle, Ruby Guilfoyle, Ian Wilson, and Alivia Wilson. Also surviving are siblings, Rebecca (Donald) Lancaster and Bill (Ella) Birkle of Petersburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Patty Birkle, and nephew Danny Lancaster.
Mollie lived her life working for St. Mary’s Catholic school and church. She will forever be Miss Mollie to St Mary’s in Aurora, where she touched so many lives during her time there.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am with Father Daniel Mahan, and Father Nicholas Dant officiating.
Interment will follow in the Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg, Kentucky.
