MMH sees another bump in COVID-19 patient volumes

BATESVILLE, IN — Margaret Mary Health has seen its COVID-19 patient volumes start to increase again this week. However, however the volumes are holding steady right now at a manageable level for hospital staff.

Ripley County’s status on the state metrics map changed from yellow back to orange with a Covid seven-day positivity rate of 6.99%. Franklin County’s status this week remains yellow with an 8.06% positivity rate. Decatur County remains in yellow this week but Dearborn County has switched back to Orange.

Margaret Mary Health currently has 19 patients on the Medical/Surgery floor, with two of those patients in the Special Care Unit.

Eight of the patients are Covid-positive. The overall percentage of admitted patients since August 1 who were unvaccinated increased slightly to 85%. (Please see charts for more details)

COVID-19 testing at MMH increased by nearly 40% from the previous week, with the positivity rate going up to 23.1%.  48 patients tested positive. (Please see chart)

Children ages 5 and older are now able to get an age-appropriate dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.  Vaccine appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday at the MMH Occupational Health and Wellness Center in Batesville at (812) 932-5105.

Vaccine appointments can also be made Monday through Friday at the Margaret Mary Health Center in Brookville at (765) 647-5126.  Walk-ins are also welcome in Brookville.
