Doors Open: Margaret Mary Health Invites Batesville to Tour Its Brand-New Hospital
Free Community Open House set for Aug. 2, one week before the new facility opens its doors to patients

(Batesville, IN) — Before the first patient ever walks through its doors, Margaret Mary Health’s new hospital is throwing open its doors to everyone else. The community is invited to take a first look at the state-of-the-art facility during a free Open House on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event, held at the new hospital campus at 1155 State Road 229 North, gives residents a firsthand look at the building before it officially begins treating patients the following Saturday, Aug. 8. No registration is required, admission is free, and organizers say guests of all ages are welcome.

A Self-Guided Look Inside
Visitors will be able to wander self-guided tours through designated areas of the building, getting an up-close view of the hospital’s advanced technology and modern patient-care spaces. Staff members will be stationed throughout the facility to answer questions along the way, and the entire tour route is fully accessible, with elevators on hand for anyone who prefers to skip the stairs.
Parking will be available on the hospital campus, with overflow lots at Margaret Mary’s Physician Center and its Outpatient & Cancer Center for anyone who arrives once the main lot fills up.
A Milestone for the Region
The Open House marks a major milestone for the not-for-profit, critical-access hospital, which has served the Batesville area for generations. Margaret Mary Health employs nearly 800 team members and has expanded over the years to include oncology and rehabilitation centers, orthopedic services, and primary and minor care offerings in nearby communities. The hospital serves a population of more than 65,000 residents across Ripley, Franklin and surrounding counties.
Once the Open House wraps up, the countdown begins: the new hospital officially opens for patient care six days later, on Saturday, Aug. 8.
