Miss Phyllis Hambrick, age 79, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 9, 1938, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, William S. and Anna Dorothy (Knox) Hambrick. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where she was a 1956 graduate of Vevay High School and received the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award. In 1957, she received her private secretarial degree from Spencerian College, in Louisville, Kentucky. Phyllis was the plant manager secretary for Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation in Madison, Indiana, retiring in 1998, after 41 years of service. She was a member of the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. Phyllis enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading and puzzles. Phyllis passed away at 10:20 am, Friday October 20, 2017, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Phyllis will be missed by her sister, Carolyn Hambrick of Vevay, IN; her cousins, Darlene Lynn and her husband: Marvin of Madison, IN, Dean Hambrick and his wife: Pam of Vevay, IN and Margaret Ann Rowlett of Moorefield, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William S. Hambrick, died November 15, 1981 and Anna Dorothy (Knox) Hambrick, died April 8, 2006 and her sister, Janet Hambrick, died May 16, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Lenny Thorpe at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
