Mildred E. Martin, 95, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Lawrenceburg, IN.
She was born December 5, 1927, in Wells County, Indiana, daughter of the late Paul W. Goodspeed and Laura (Drukemiller) Goodspeed.
She worked in the Business Office for Dearborn County Hospital, retiring after over 33 years of service.
She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and the Hummingbird Homemakers Club.
Mildred’s faith was very important to her, she served in many capacities throughout her entire life. She graduated from Mt. St. Joseph College at the age of 60. Mildred loved to travel with her husband of over 50 years, and together they visited 48 of the 50 states. She was a master gardener, she did flower projects at Shady Nook, the YES Home, and the church. She had a “go to” spirit that helped her serve people in many capacities into her later years.
Mildred is survived by her children, Sandra (Ed) Shannon of Rising Sun, IN, Janet Stinchcomb of Aurora, IN, Mary Lee (Dan) Kyle of Lawrenceburg, IN, Kay (Jim) Bennett of Union, KY, Dian (Steve) Neal of Aurora, IN, Rex (Susan) Martin of Aurora, IN, Charlie (Cindy) Nurrenberg of Oldenburg, IN; brother, Max (Shirley) Goodspeed of FL; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Claude Martin; son, David Martin; brothers, Vaughn, Kenneth, and Robert; son-in-law Karl Stinchcomb.
Friends will be received Friday, May 12, 2023, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Community United Methodist Church, 18189 Possum Ridge Road, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the church at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mike Workman officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Methodist Cemetery-Negangard Corner, Sunman, IN.
