Milan varsity softball jumped ahead early and never looked back, winning 14-0 over North Decatur on Tuesday night.
Milan opened up scoring in the first inning when one run scored on a Kynadee Bode single. The Indians would score 5 runs in the second inning, 3 in the third, and 5 in the fourth.
North Decatur’s biggest hit of the game came in the fourth on a double by Macy Scudder.
Bode took the win for Milan, surrendering zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out six.
Elizabeth Meister took the loss for the Chargers. The righthander lasted two and one-third innings, allowing 13 hits and nine runs while walking zero.
Scudder and Libby Crawford each collected one hit to lead North Decatur.
Milan collected 18 hits on the day. Bode, Emma Voss, Chloe Hunter, Abby Moore, Nevaeh Carpenter, and Karsyn Bode all collected multiple hits for the Indians.
