Michael DeShay Cooper, 66

Michael DeShay Cooper, 66, of Greensburg passed away on December 15, 2024. He was born on June 10, 1958 in Lexington, Kentucky the son of James and Wanda Lee (Arvin) Cooper. Michael was a 1977 graduate of Talwanda High School of Oxford, Ohio. He served in the United States Army. On October 19, 2013 he married Kristi L. Spaulding. Michael retired from Jim Beam. He was a member of the Main Street Christian Church of Rushville. He played the harmonica and was in bands names Big in Iowa, Sunny Hill in the Night, and TMC.

Michael enjoyed times with his family and friends. He loved going on country cruises and loved the men’s breakfast at Main Street Christian Church with Jack Spaulding and Chip West. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter Kristina, his son Joshua and granddaughter Addy. He cherished his friends and family and the life he had with his wife Kristi at Lake Santee.

Survivors include: wife, Kristi Cooper; children, Kristina (Tommy) Bertram and Joshua (Penelope) Keeton; granddaughter, Addyson Keeton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cynthia Hayes.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Main St. Christian Church, 615 N. Main St in Rushville with Pastor Chip West officiating. Michael will be laid to rest at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Memorial contributions can be made to the Main Street Christian Church of Rushville.
