Michael Andrew “Snake” Walke, age 67 of Goodland, Indiana passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. The son of Ralph “Red” and Velma (nee: Prakel) Walke was born on May 30, 1952 in Batesville.
Michael worked as a mechanic for the Petro Truck Stop in New Point before moving to the Remington, IN location. He loved what he did for a living and made a lot of friends over the years through his job. When he wasn’t working you could usually find Mike enjoying the outdoors hunting or playing golf. His grandchildren were special to him, and he will be dearly missed by all of them and the rest of his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Hale of Goodland, IN; son, Marcus (Angela) Hale of Crawfordsville, IN; three grandchildren, James, Emmy and Lauren; along with his sisters, Mary Jo Mahle and Patti Walke, both of Batesville; and brothers, Dick Walke of Crawfordsville, IN and Chuck Walke of Mishawaka, IN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Hale-Walke in 2013.
Visitation, Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 10-11am with 11am funeral service immediately following all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Rev. Shawn Crisman officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Louis Church Cemetery in Batesville.
