(Decatur County, IN) – The Greensburg/Decatur County community recently suffered a great loss with the passing of Merrill Smith.
To compound the grieving for the family, person(s) unknown entered the Smith residence sometime between the hours of 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 and 4 p.m. on Friday, May 31.
Taken from the residence was a bag containing checks made out to the Decatur County Community Foundation and the First Christian Church in memory of Merrill.
If you made out a check in memory of Merrill, we are asking that you notify Sgt. Patrick Graue at (812) 663-8125 with any information you can provide as to the cashing of the check if it has been cashed.
If your check has not been cashed, we suggest that a stop payment be put on the check.
