McClain hits Grand Slam as Cincinnati beats Arizona in series opener.

The Reds extended their winning streak to three games on Friday night with a 9-6 series-opening win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

With Cincinnati leading 5-3 in the bottom of the 5th, Rookie Matt McClain provided 4 runs with one swing when he hit a grand slam to extend the lead to 9-3.

The Reds allowed 3 runs in the top of the 7th to make it 9-6. That would be the closest Arizona would get as Cincinnati Closer Alexis Diaz entered the game in the ninth and retired the side in order to earn his 28th save of the season.

Matt McClain finished the game 2-4, with the aforementioned grand slam and 4 RBI. Spencer Steer also had a productive night at the plate, batting 2-5 with 3 runs driven in.
