Mason McNew strikes out 12 in South Ripley’s win over ORVC foe Shawe Memorial

Behind the complete game effort of starting pitcher Mason McNew, the visiting South Ripley Raiders defeated the Shawe Hilltoppers 5-2 in ORVC baseball action.

The freshman McNew struck out 12, allowed only 2 hits, 1 earned run, and walked one batter in a dominating performance to pick up his third win of the year.

Offensively for South Ripley, Ryan Gorrell had a double and RBI; Trent Smith singled and knocked in a run; and Brayden Dilk went 2 for 3 with two runs scored; Austin Hodge was 2-3 with an RBI.

With the win, the Raiders improve to 7-12 overall, 4-7 in the conference, with one game remaining in the regular season (Friday at JCD).
