Mary Jane Fox

Mary Jane Roell Fox, 81 years of Logan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2024. Raised on a farm in Harrison, OH, Mary Jane was a hardworking woman who always put family first. She loved the holidays when she could cook for the entire family and have everyone over to their home. She was easy to talk to and provided the kind of support that only a mother can give. Always protective of her family, Mary Jane talked with her children every week and wanted to know their itineraries when they traveled. In turn, she shared her plans with them when she and her husband, Russell, traveled. They enjoyed traveling to Dollywood, Branson, and, always Florida for the winter. Mary Jane enjoyed listening to all types of music including country, southern gospel and bluegrass. When they were home, she enjoyed playing games and cards with the family on Sundays. Mary Jane also liked to watch Dancing with the Stars, ice skating, and game shows. Finding treasures at yard sales and flea markets was a fun adventure and she kept an eye out for Longaberger baskets which she collected. Wanting to give her family something personal each year, Mary Jane had already sewn each of her children towels for Christmas this year. Mary Jane loved the Lord and was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily. For many years, Mary Jane and Russell belonged to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in New Alsace, but most recently were members of St. John the Baptist in Harrison, OH.

Mary Jane will be deeply missed by Russell, her husband of 61 years; children Janette “Janie” (Tim) Colegate, David Fox, Kevin (Amy) Fox, Linda (Erik) Mumbeck, and Brenda (Bill) Stewart; grandchildren Joshua (Maria) Colegate, Jessica Colegate, Timothy Colegate, Sarah Fox, Lauren Fox, Katherine (Marckus) Ramirez, Kurtis (Jordan) Fox, Daniel Fox, Kirstin Mumbeck, Jenna Mumbeck, Kyle (Sarah) Stewart, Jared Stewart, Jenna (Noah Midgley) Stewart; great grandchildren Ava, Leo, & Luke Colegate; and siblings John (Susan) Roell, Judy (Eric) Smith, Ann (Joe) Schulte, Rosemary (John) Zinser, and brother-in-law Art Blankman.
