Mark Edward Lutz, 58 of Bright, Indiana passed away May 10, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. Mark was born May 16, 1966 to Loren and Marge (Daugherty) Lutz. He was a lifelong resident of Dearborn County but spent the past few years at The Waters of Batesville.
Mark was a 1984 graduate of East Central High School and a 1986 graduate of the Academy of Communicative Arts. Mark spent most of his career working in graphic design and commercial art. He began his art career working for Getz Jewelry designing and creating window displays. Mark then worked for Cincinnati Displays where he designed and built booths for conventions. Prior to his illness, Mark ran his own company, Beyond Cyber Concepts.
Mark loved TV and movies, especially Sci-Fi. In addition to being a talented artist, he could fix or repair almost anything. He always was the person you called when something was broken or needed to be assembled. Mark loved to cook and loved hosting great parties. The family referred to him as a tech wizard because he could program and set up all things IT.
Mark was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. His proudest accomplishment was being uncle to Bryson and Meredith. He never missed a milestone and was very proud to be an uncle. We believe he coined the term “funcle” knowing he was a fun uncle.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy and Helen (Nowlin) Lutz, George Daugherty, Dutch and Alberta (Belhmer) Estridge, and his uncle, Ronnie Meyer.
He is survived by his devoted parents Loren and Marge Lutz, Bright, Indiana, sister and brother in law, Doug and Marsha Jones, Florence, KY. Nephew and Niece, Bryson and Meredith Jones, Florence, KY. Aunts and Uncles: Jim and Judy Viel, Bright, IN, Harold and Lillian Lutz, Bright, IN, Keith Lutz, Rowena, TX, Elaine Meyer, Logan, IN, and Dale and Rachel Lutz, Logan, IN. Cousins: Amy (Bill) Jones, Sarah (Tony) Roell, Steve (Kim) Lutz, Dave (Sharon) Lutz, Terry Lutz, Kevin Lutz, Carol (Eii) Droll, Alison Meyer, Abby (Scott) Ruwe, Randy (Amanda)Lutz, and Heidi (Kyle) Howe.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 18th 1-3pm at the Parish Center at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, Dover, Indiana. All are welcome. Donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Julia Bulach and her fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Services are entrusted to Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home.
