Marilyn Todd

Marilyn Todd passed away in her home in Sunman, Indiana on the morning of February 22, 2017.

A graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, Marilyn married Stephen Todd in 1971 and built a 25 year career at People’s Bank and Trust and FCN Bank in Sunman; with a break for raising children and working as a bookkeeper and dispatcher for Todd Wrecker Service.  She also was an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Her conscientious spirit and mind for detail were well-regarded in her professional and volunteer activities.  For vacations Marilyn and Steve enjoyed traveling across the US, including horseback riding and snowmobiling in many of their adventures.  There are many pictures chronicling the family trips.

Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Godmother, and Friend to many, Marilyn always shared her creative and artistic energy with those who knew her.  Over the years she enjoyed a variety of artistic pursuits including candle making, sewing, and painting.  She especially enjoyed decorating the grape vine wreaths and swags her father cut and shaped from his arbor – her family will think of her fondly when changing out the wreaths through the seasons.  Marilyn loved children and delighted in their wonder and exploration.  She carefully labeled and preserved every photograph her beloved nephews and nieces sent to her through the years.

She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on October 20, 2016.  We can take some comfort knowing the burdens of illness are set aside and she is at rest.  Her final moments were spent in the presence of her husband and sons.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Todd, her three sons, Brian, Eric, and Jason as well as her brothers Earl (Jennifer Forman),  Jim (Marcia) Roell and David (Joyce) Roell, her sister Sharon (John) Eckstein, and her in-laws, Robert and Lois Todd, Don (Janet) Todd, and Patricia (Mike) Ragland. She is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Dorothy (nee Batta) Roell, and two infant siblings.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  The Rosary prayer service will begin at 3:15.  A Mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Shaun Whittington is Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Sunman America Legion Post #337 – Fund 252 in care of the Ripley County Community Foundation or to St. Nicholas Church Heritage Project.  To sign the online guestbook or to leave a personal condolence, please visit www.cookrosenberger.com.  The staff of Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home is honored to care for the family of Marilyn Todd.
