Marilyn Jean “Jeanne” (Bennett) McCreary, 90, of Aurora, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
She was born February 9, 1934, in Wright’s Corner, IN, daughter of the late Ivan Bennett and Cora (Leffler) Bennett.
She worked in the Interior Department for Aurora Casket Company, retiring after over 42 years of service.
Jeanne was a Wilmington Hills Wesleyan Church Charter Member (Lifelong). She was very active through the years, teaching adult Sunday School and serving as church secretary. Her faith was very important to her, as witnessed by her faithful attendance to services and her generous giving.
She loved the outdoors. Her yard was perfectly manicured, flower beds lovingly tended and moles an ongoing nemesis. She spent many happy hours watching Andy Griffith, Lawrence Welk, the Cincinnati Reds, and Gaither music videos.
Jeanne is survived by niece, Tonya (Barry) Carroll of New Middletown, OH; nephew, Mark (Debbie) Tanner of Greendale, IN; great-nephew Jonathan (Meaghan) Carroll, great-niece Alyssa (Dan Drennen) Carroll; and great-great niece Dagny Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell, sisters, Edith Voshell and Doris Tanner; brothers, Delmar Bennett and Melvin “Jack” Bennett; father, Ivan Bennett and mother, Cora Bennett.
Friends will be received Monday, March 11, 2024, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Wilmington Hills Wesleyan Church, 13044 S. Wilmington Hills Drive, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the church, at 1:00 pm at the church officiated by Rev. James Kessen.
Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, IN.
