Marilyn L. Acra, 97 of Milan passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. Marilyn was born on July 4, 1927, in Sunman, Indiana; daughter of Thomas and Glenna (Beer) Wetzler. Marilyn married the love of her life, Norman W. Acra, on December 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death August 10, 2004. She was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church. Marilyn worked for many years at Bruns Supermarket in Milan. Marilyn volunteered for MMH for 23 years. She is a lifetime member of the Milan VFW ladies Auxiliary, and she belonged to a 9-lady bridge club. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, baking, ironing and spending time with her family.
Marilyn will be missed by her son: Tom Acra (Michelle Reynolds) of Milan, daughters: Beth (David) Redwine of Milan, Cherie (Marvin) Ison of Dillsboro; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Janice Wetzler, one great-granddaughter: Micayla Acra.
Family and friends may gather to remember Marilyn from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 20, 2024, also at the funeral home, with Pastor LaJoe Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow at Craven Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Marilyn to Milan United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
