Marieda C. Koors, 87, Greensburg

Marieda Catherine Koors, age 87, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024. Born on April 24, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph B. and Agnes (Butz) Hoeing.

A proud graduate of Sandusky High School, class of 1955, Marieda married her devoted husband, James “Jim” Koors, on April 26, 1958. Together, they shared 66 wonderful years and raised three sons, building a life filled with love and laughter.

Marieda was a dedicated homemaker who embraced the joys of family life. She took an active role in helping Jim on their farm, never hesitating to lend a hand with the work. A long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she was also involved with the St. Anne’s Society and the Marion Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her spirit of community extended to her love for bowling and catering for weddings, where her culinary skills shone through, especially during the holidays when she once made around 1,000 cookies for Christmas.

Marieda is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Koors; her sons, David (Sherry) Koors, Ricky (Jenny) Koors, and Daryl (Cindy) Koors; her brother, Sheldon (Mary) Hoeing; sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Dorothy Hoeing; brother-in-law, Paul Rosfeld; and her cherished grandchildren: Brittany (Aaron) Beckett, Michael Koors, Bradley (Molly) Koors, Elizabeth Brown, Rebecca (Chris) Huddleston, and Katie (Jason) McGuire. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, as well as several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Marieda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Marvin (Mildred) Hoeing, Maurice (Roselyn) Hoeing, Alfred (Romilda) Hoeing, Jerome Hoeing, and Carroll Hoeing; and her sisters, Doreen Rosfeld and Delores (Robert) Bruns.

Funeral services will be held on October 24, 2024, starting with a Rosary at 8:30 AM, followed by visitation from 8:45 to 10:30 AM, and a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, officiated by Father John Meyer. All services will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1331 East Hunter Robbins Way, Greensburg, IN, with burial following at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen.
