“This is truly a very unfortunate situation we’re up against,” said Liz Leising, interim CEO and President of Margaret Mary Health. “Under normal circumstances, our inpatient volumes are much lower, and had this occurred we could easily move patients into private rooms with very little impact. With the current COVID-19 surge, we have 32 patients on the floor, which is more than double our normal capacity, forcing us to have multiple patients in a room. We understand this is not the patient and family experience we pride ourselves on providing, however, we can assure you we will not let it impact the quality of care our patients deserve. We hope this will be resolved very quickly and appreciate everyone’s patience during this challenging time.”
