Margaret G. Gabbard, 100, of Manchester, passed away Friday May 1, 2020 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
She was born November 28, 1919 in Aurora, IN, daughter of the late Rezin Brown and Goldy (Alspaugh) Brown. Margaret celebrated her 100th birthday this past Thanksgiving Day with her family.
Margaret was a member of Community United Methodist Church, and she was the historian of the church for many years. Her faith was very important to her. Margaret was an avid letter writer, and poet. Her faith and family were most important in her life.
Margaret is survived by her children, Larry Gabbard of Aurora, IN, Carol (Bruce) Lane of Aurora, IN., James (Brenda) Gabbard of Aurora, IN., and Michael (Patty) Gabbard of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Richard Gabbard, Melissa Shull, Kim Carr, Goldy Lynn Clark, Larry Gabbard, Lisa Whisman, Bruce Lane, Shawn Gabbard, Jennifer Gabbard, Jackie Koch, Katy Gabbard, Molly Gabbard, and Anna Gabbard; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Taylor Gabbard; son, Taylor Richard Gabbard; grandson, Christopher Allen Lane, and brother, Carl Rumsey.
Private family time will be Tuesday, May 5, 2020, 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleves.
Contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, the CUMC Food Pantry or the Manchester Fire Department. Please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
