Bright, IN — A man who fled from Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies this week was captured in Bright Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Shane McHenry says 34-year-old Ryan McIntosh, who was wanted for failure to pay child support, was spotted by a deputy near the intersection of Stateline Road and Jamison Drive in Bright Tuesday afternoon.

McHenry says McIntosh resisted attempts to handcuff him and fled the scene.

The deputy tried to get control of McIntosh during a brief struggle, but the suspect got away and it was believed he had a gun.

After an extensive search of the area, deputies were not able to find McIntosh and an alert was put out to the public through the Dearborn County 9-1-1 Center that McIntosh was at large and believed to be armed.

Deputies found and arrested McIntosh without incident on Jeb Drive in Bright.

McHenry says he expects additional charges to be filed against McIntosh, who is from Harrison, Ohio.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Dillsboro and West Harrison police departments, and the Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit.
