(Jennings County, IN) – A man wanted on warrants from our area was arrested late last week following a pursuit.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office says a previously violent felon, 58-year-old Brian Weber, was wanted on warrants from Decatur County for Burglary with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Failure to Appear for Habitual Offender Sentencing.

He was also wanted on a state parole warrant for Dealing Cocaine.

Authorities were told Weber had said he didn’t want to go back to prison and planned to, “…go out in a blaze of glory.”

SWAT teams from Jennings County and other agencies found Weber outside a home, but police say he ran away from officers and went through several yards.

He was cornered in a barn a half mile away and tried unsuccessfully to take his own life.

Weber was taken into custody with the assistance of a K9 and, after being treated for morning injuries, was booked in the Jennings County Jail on new charges of Intimidation of a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Seymour Police Department SWAT Team, Jennings County EMA, Jennings County EMS, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Indiana State Police.
