Man Injured In Labor Day Motorcycle Crash

LAUREL – One man was rushed to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a fallen tree on McGuire Ridge Road on Labor Day.

Franklin County deputies responded to the accident around 6:11 p.m. Robert Moorman, 48, was traveling east on the road on a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a tree reportedly fell across the roadway.

Moorman was unable to stop the bike, striking the tree. Police say he was ejected forward off the motorcycle and struck his head on the roadway.

Moorman was taken by ambulance to Rush Memorial Hospital for treatment of head injuries.

His current condition was not immediately released.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on the scene by Laurel Emergency responders, Metamora Fire Department and Blooming Grove Fire Department.
