Man convicted of stalking, invasion of privacy, and harassment

Lawrenceburg, IN—Billy Gene Luke, 33 of Dillsboro was convicted on Friday, July 26th, 2019 of Stalking in three counts, Invasion of Privacy, and Harassment.

Luke, who was incarcerated for Criminal Mischief, Invasion of Privacy and Contempt convictions from a case in Dearborn Circuit Court from
2014 continued to stalk his victim from his cell at the Department of Corrections.

Luke sent the victim numerous letters, in violation of the no-contact order. These letters included multiple vulgar suggestions and
threats he intended to act upon when released from the DOC.

“It is horrible that a victim continued to be stalked from the Department of Corrections. Luke’s actions have terrorized this victim for the better part of seven years. I am glad that jurors saw the evidence and convicted Luke,” stated Prosecutor Deddens. Convictions on the Level 6
Felonies, only carry a maximum sentence of two and a half years.

Sentencing is set for August 15th, 2019 in Dearborn Circuit Court before the Honorable James D. Humphrey.
