Man arrested on school property with drugs

 

Brookville, IN—Recently, a traffic stop was initiated by patrolmen with the Brookville Police Department in the area of Franklin Avenue and 3rd Street. The suspect vehicle continued traveling toward St. Michael Catholic School before coming to a stop in the east St. Michael School parking lot.

The vehicle was occupied by multiple subjects working on a contracted job at the St. Michael’s School location. During the investigation, patrolmen found the driver, Justin E. Martin of Richmond, Indiana, to be in possession of an illegal controlled substance. While the investigation continued, several more subjects were arrested for various misdemeanor drug-related charges. The arrests included a subject attempting to dispose of an illegal substance in the parking lot, while St. Michael’s students were attending gym class nearby.

One of the parish employees located the illegal substance in the area and provided it to Brookville patrolmen. Consequently, St. Michael’s School employee’s suspended gym class and removed the children from the area. Patrolmen were able to determine the owner of the illegal substance through several on-site interviews. As a result of these interviews, the suspect was immediately placed under arrest.

Justin E. Martin of Richmond, Indiana is charged on allegations of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
