Man arrested in Columbus for child molestation

Columbus, IN — After a three-month investigation By the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest warrant for child molestation was issued for Joseph B. Tucker, 52, of Columbus, late Tuesday afternoon.

On October 30, 2020, a possible child molesting incident was reported to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and an inquiry began.

“Statistics indicate that most victims know their perpetrator and unfortunately, many victims do not report these crimes”, said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew A. Myers.  “I want to commend this family for coming forward and reporting this crime and I want victims to know that it’s not their fault”, added Sheriff Myers. Sheriff Myers encourages any survivor to please come forth and report the crime.

Following the investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged on two allegations of child molestation and one allegation of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
