Man Arrested Following Two-County Vehicle Pursuit

(Ripley/Dearborn Counties, IN) – A Brookville man is facing several charges following a vehicle pursuit in Ripley and Dearborn counties last Friday evening.

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a car driven by 21-year-old Ethan Krier around 7:16 p.m.

When the deputy got out of his vehicle, Krier allegedly fled the scene and drove through the Versailles town limits before getting onto eastbound U.S. 50.

The chase went into Dearborn County on Stoops Road before Krier abruptly turned around onto West County Line Road and then traveled west on 50 back into Ripley County.

Deputies say Krier’s car went over tire deflation devices at the intersection of U.S. 50 and State Road 101, but the vehicle continued on 50 near County Road 450 East where another tire deflation device further incapacitated his car.

Krier eventually turned onto County Road 400 East and stopped at a dead end where deputies say he got out of the car and initiated a foot pursuit.

He was found in a wooded area and arrested without further incident.

Krier is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Criminal Recklessness with a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Investigators say he also had active arrest warrants in Ripley and Dearborn counties.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Indiana State Police; the Osgood, Holton and Aurora police departments; Ripley County EMS; Ripley County Communications, and Carl’s Automotive.
