Man arrested following pursuit

(Greensburg, IN) – A Greensburg man is facing charges following a pursuit Monday evening.

Greensburg Police say it started shortly before 8 pm when Officer Kaitlin Jackowicz spotted 27-year-old Bryce Bower, who was wanted on a warrant out of Fayette County, leaving the area of Washington and Lincoln streets in a blue PT Cruiser.

Investigators say Jackowicz pursued Bower’s vehicle for two blocks before he stopped, got out of the vehicle, and fled on foot.

Jackowicz chased Bower through several alleys and backyards but lost sight of him.

After that, she believed Bower was still in the area and a perimeter was set up.

About 50 minutes later, police K9 Hercules found Bower hiding in a grown-up fence line.

After he was treated for an injury at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Bower was booked into the Decatur County Detention Center.

He is facing preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine (both Level 6 felonies), and Criminal Recklessness (Class B misdemeanor).

The Greensburg Police Department is thanking the public, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Decatur County Communications for their assistance in the case.
