Madison man arrested on child seduction charges

(Madison, IN) – A Madison man is locked up and facing seven charges stemming from child seduction attempts he allegedly made while he was a School Resource Officer.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post began the investigation last August when accusations were made that 63-year-old Timothy Armstrong had inappropriate communications with a juvenile male student in the Madison Consolidated School Corporation on numerous occasions between April 2002 and August 2022.

Armstrong is charged with Attempted Child Seduction; Attempted Promotion of Child Sexual Trafficking (both Level 3 felonies): Vicarious Sexual Gratification (Level 4 felony); Child Solicitation; Attempted Child Exploitation (both Level 5 felonies); three counts of Official Misconduct (all Level 6 felonies), and three count of Inappropriate Communication with a Child (all Class B misdemeanors).

He was arrested yesterday afternoon in Madison and is being held in the Jennings County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
