Lulu Fern Lane-Storms died peacefully, surrounded by her family at Dearborn County Hospital on August 5, 2016. Born on June 12, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Meade and Anna (nee: Lacy) Knose. The 92 year old West Harrison resident was fondly known to her family and friends as, Fern.
Fern married Nolan Lane and they were blessed with three children. He passed away in 1975 and she was later remarried to Marshall Storms until his passing.
Fern loved to eat, cook and shop but especially loved her church, where she was a member of Life Springs Church in Harrison. The flower lover always had a pretty flower garden she would tend to. Fern worked at US Shoe as a Final Inspector for 30 years and truly enjoyed her job. She was known for bringing coffee and donuts into work to sell them and use the funds to have parties for all the employees there or to help those having a rough time. Many knew her as a comical lady with a great sense of humor. Fern really enjoyed traveling too and had visited almost all 50 states except Alaska. Her kids happily recall her driving her Buick Regal around with a heavy lead foot. Most of all Fern, was a very loving wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother that will be truly missed.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Don) Turner of Okeana, OH, Nola (Greg) Roberts of Harrison, OH, and Pam (Chuck) Woods of West Harrison, IN; plus 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers Alan, Lloyd, Meade Jr. and William “Bill” Knose along with her grandson Steven Roberts.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 10am to12pm followed by Funeral Services at 12noon, all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH. Minister Tim Russell officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery, New Haven, OH.
