Lula Mae Hensley, age 83, of Metamora, Indiana died early Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at her residence in Metamora, following a lengthy illness.
Born December 15, 1942 in Leslie County, Kentucky she was one of ten children born to the late Bennie & Dolphie (Morgan) Farler. On December 6, 1963, she became the wife of Ted Hensley, and he survives.
Lula was retired from the former Ford Visteon in Connersville where she had worked for many years. In her leisure time she enjoyed flower gardening, and taking care of her family. She was an excellent cook, and family dinners and gatherings were special events.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Ted Hensley of Metamora, three children, Michael S. (Robin) Hensley, Ted M. (Melissa) Hensley, and Kelly D. (John) Hensley Mullins; four sisters, Nancy Morgan, Betty Morgan, Bonny Young, Edna (Butch) Carver; a brother, Roy (Barbara) Farler; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with two more on the way soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Todd Hensley, who died October 9, 2026; a set of twin daughters, and a set of twin sons; four siblings, James Farler, Evelenna Thurman, Barbara Smith, Jerry Farler.
Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Rob Edwards will officiate the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 19, 2026 Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Burial will follow in Metamora Cemetery in Metamora, Indiana.
