Loyd Jacqulyn “Jackie” Swegman, 87

Loyd Jacqulyn “Jackie” Barnard Swegman passed into eternal rest on December 26, 2018.  Jackie was born to Milton F. Barnard and Effie Dell Lee Barnard on November 29, 1931 in Franklin County, Indiana.  She was the youngest of five children, her beloved sister Ruth Wilhoit survives.  Jackie graduated from Greensburg High School in the class of 1950.  On July 2, 1950 she and Joseph B. Swegman were the first couple to be married in the newly built Pilgrim Holiness Church on West Main St.

Jackie worked for 25 years at the Greensburg Sears Store, retiring in 1982.  She and Joe spent twenty-five years wintering in Naples, Florida.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, and reading.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest source of joy.  Jackie attended the East Naples United Methodist Church as well as the Greensburg United Methodist Church over the years.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Joseph B. Swegman Sr., daughter, Cynthia (Jeff) Moore, son, J. Bruce (Diana) Swegman, Jr., grandchildren J. Joseph (Jenny) Moore, Michael D. Moore, Lauren Moore Gibbs, J. Ryan (Meagan) Swegman, and Joseph B. Swegman III.  Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Alex Moore, Ashley Moore, Asher Moore, Adriane Swineford, Makenna Moore, Leighanna Gibbs, and John Ryan Swegman, Jr., and a number of dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother, Rolland Barnard, sisters, Mary Alice Crawley and Jean E. Humpert, three nephews and a niece.

In lieu of flowers gifts in her memory may be given to the “Our Hospice of South Central Indiana” or to the donor’s choice. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
