Lowell Thomas Somers, 74, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Margaret Mary Hospital. He was born May 20, 1948 in Lincoln, Michigan to Eugene and Lois (Doughty) Somers.
Lowell proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and fought in Vietnam. He was heavily involved in Ripley County 4H. Lowell initially got involved in 4H as a parent and eventually worked on the board. He enjoyed gardening as well.
Lowell is survived by his wife, Nancy (Stokes) Somers; children, Rochelle Eppley (Joel), Benjamin Somers, Brian Somers, Kelly Somers, Chris Somers, Tammy Magee, and Jason Somers; grandchildren, John and Niah Eppley; siblings, Leo Somers (Sharon), Mary Caverly (Mike), and Kaye Lovelace (Glen).
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marjorie Somers and Carole Sheedlo; brother-in-law- Barry Sheedlo.
A service will be held at a later date in Lincoln, Michigan.
