Lowell McClellan, 73 of North Vernon passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at Premier Healthcare of North Vernon. Lowell was born Monday January 10, 1944 in Dillsboro the son of Haskell and Helen (Hall) McClellan. He married Martha “Marty” (Cornett) McClellan in September of 1963 and together they raised son Paul Edward and daughter Vicky Ann. After school Lowell enlisted in the US Army and then was employed at Muscatatuck State Hospital in Butlerville until retirement. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of both the Dillsboro American Legion Post and the Vernon Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Lowell is survived by daughter, Vicky (Charlie) McDaniels, Daughter-in-law Prim, Grandsons Levi McDaniels and Chris McClellan and Granddaughter Megan Krause, 2 Great Grandchildren, and fiancée Jeanne Stainbrook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marty, son Ed McClellan, and brothers Amos, Paul, Robert, and Leroy McClellan.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Monday December 11 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Pastor Don Morris and Rev. Tom Fehrman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro with military rites by the Northcutt Laaker American Legion Post #292 of Dillsboro. Visitation will also be Monday 10-12noon at the funeral home.
