FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — Longtime Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office employee Diane Singer was recently recognized for her many years of service with a prestigious and statewide award. At a ceremony on December 6, Franklin County Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp presented Singer with the Kathy Falkner Richey Award at the annual Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council (IPAC) Winter Conference in Indianapolis.

IPAC has honored recipients of the Richey Award since 2011. The award is named after IPAC’s former office administrator and its recipients are chosen based on a commitment to service.

Prior to retiring this spring, Diane’s service to the citizens of Franklin County began in March 2001 as an administrator in the Child Support Division of the Prosecutor’s Office. From day one, she approached her duties with compassion, empathy, and dogged pursuit of delinquent parents. In her career, Diane was personally involved with thousands of ongoing child support cases, some lasting years, all involving at least one parent or guardian and child. To put that in perspective, the population of Franklin County is approximately 23,000. Therefore, during her many years of service, Diane personally touched the lives of a tremendous percentage of our local families.

From typewriters to e-filing, through both relatively “normal” times and the tribulations of the past year, Diane’s service and dedication to this community–in particular its children–never wavered.

Huerkamp would like to thank IPAC and its Executive Director Chris Naylor for recognizing Diane’s service with this award, and of course Diane, for her many years of devotion to the Prosecutor’s Office and the citizens of Franklin County.
