Longtime area public servant passes away

Ripley County/Greensburg, IN — The area is mourning the passing of longtime public servant Dan Mulford.

The Napoleon resident died at home Sunday following a recent illness and a series of health challenges in recent years.

He served as a dispatcher with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and as the Greensburg Police Department dispatch supervisor before his retirement in 2014.

Mulford was also a former Ripley County Emergency Management Agency director and a 40-plus-year member of the Osgood Fire Department.

Dan Mulford was 70 years old.

He’ll be laid to rest on Thursday.
