Long-time WRBI manager announces retirement

Batesville, In. — Batesville icon and WRBI general manager Ron Green has announced his retirement after 40 years of service to local media and the community.

Forty-years ago Green was handpicked by the original owner, Don Davis to establish a new radio station in southeastern Indiana. Green left his post at the local newspaper and the story began. From tubes and transistors to digital, computer controlled on-air systems and five owners Green has made excellence and community service a constant.

He served on Batesville Community School Corporation board and the Ripley County Fair Board.

Green says he plans to travel, especially to the Colorado area where he has family, play golf and travel some more. He will be missed.
