Georgetown, KY—A local woman is being held in Kentucky on manslaughter charges.
Georgetown Kentucky police have charged Cassandra Carson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Mathew A. Turner, 36, of Georgetown.
Police responded to the Mill Townhouse Complex in Georgetown, a few miles north of Lexington, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when a woman reported hearing a thud outside her window and found Turner on the ground.
Police say they found Turner dead on the sidewalk when they arrived. Assistant Police Chief Robert Swanigan stated, “We talked to several witnesses in the area in the in the area that overheard some type of verbal argument take place either inside the apartment or in front of the apartment.” Swanigan said Turner appeared to have suffered from a stab wound to the neck area.
Police also say Carson was in violation of an emergency protective order.
