Local Star Makes Smooth Transition to New Big-League Club

He got into the action right away–  former Batesville Bulldog pitcher, 27-year-old Bryan Hoeing, threw his first inning for his new major league club, the San Diego Padres last night.

The game came just over 24 hours after Hoeing was traded, in the Miami Marlins’ fire sale.

The stats show Bryan closed out the game in the 9th for the Padres as they topped the Dodgers, throwing only 8 pitches, 6 of them for strikes, and seeing 3 batters, striking one out and another hitting a fly ball that was caught for an out.  So, he helped preserve the Padres’ win, 8-1.  The winning pitcher was starter Dylan Cease.
