(Batesville, IN) – The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority spent Saturday making 100 pies as one of their annual fundraisers.
The apple and cherry pies are pre-ordered.
The members spend one day working like an assembly line.
They wash, core, peel and slice apples.
Meanwhile, others are rolling dough, or mixing apples with the sugar mixture, or spooning cherry pie filling into the pie shells.
Another member topped the pies with a crumb topping, which then goes to a sorority sister who wraps the pie in foil, puts it into a freezer bag, and the pies are taken to a freezer.
The frozen pies were then picked up the next day by those who ordered the pies.
Great teamwork for a small group of ladies.
Any extra pies remaining after this Pie-A-Thon will be sold at the Beta Sigma Phi’s annual Holiday Bazaar at Batesville Primary School on Sunday, November 3.
