Local REMC Linemen Compete at Statewide Event

(Greensburg, IN) – One team and four individual linemen from Decatur County REMC competed at the Indiana Electric Cooperative Lineman Rodeo, which was held last Thursday and Friday in Danville.

The linemen competed in events that tested skills such as pole climbing, hurt man rescue and safely changing electric line hardware.

A total of 37 teams and 138 individuals from 28 Indiana electric cooperatives competed in this year’s event.

Decatur County REMC brought back three awards:

  • Team Hurt Man Rescue, 2nd Place
    Collin Crabtree, Evan Tallent, Joe Vanderbur
    Score: 100 – Time: 2:29.97
  • Individual Apprentice Overall, 3rd Place
    Caleb Litmer
    Score: 300 – Time: 10:14.19
  • Apprentice Skill Climb, 3rd Place
    Caleb Litmer
    Score: 100 – Time: 06:09.97

In addition, Josh Meyer, Adam Fry, and Jordan Ice, representing Southeastern Indiana REMC, came in 2nd in the Team Mystery Event. Score: 100 – Time: 14:12.50.
